The Cape Romain, 22 x 30, watercolor and wax resist, painted in the studio, 2015. The Cape Romain tugboat was docked in Fells Point, Baltimore for many years. Waiting for Restoration
Waiting for Restoration, 22 x 30, watercolor and wax resist, painted in the studio 2015. While on a camping trip at Crisfield, Maryland I explored the backroads and Chesapeake Bay shoreline and came across this old working boat. I love to paint boats and use any excuse to visit the Eastern Shore. Not for sale.
The Crape Myrtle on East St.
The Crape Myrtle on East St, 12 x 16, watercolor, 2015, painted en plein air, Frederick, Maryland. ‘En Plein Air’ is a French term meaning painting in the outdoors. This crape myrtle happens to be behind Senator Ron Young’s office in Frederick. Just as I was finishing my painting Sen. Young was leaving his office and we had a nice chat. One thing I love about painting outdoors is you never know who you will meet. $300.
The Cape Romain
The Garden Gate, 12 x 16, watercolor and wax resist, 2015, painted en plein air at PennTerra in Creagerstown, Maryland. Our painting group paints at Pennterra, a historic colonial home built about 1783, every year. We always paint there in early spring and the shadows this time of year are still quite long. I was taken by the shadows on the barn. The owner of the home came to chat and said she couldn’t figure out what I was painting from the location of my easel. She was surprised to see my composition. $300.

Early Spring
Early Spring, 22 x 30, watercolor and wax resist, 2009, painted in the studio. This is a barn owned by a friend’s relative in Chautauqua County, New York. I love the sloped roof which was built to withstand heavy snow falls. Sold.
